Turbine consists of upper and lower casings which are tied up with heating bolts to easily disassemble and assemble them. The maintenance of turbine is carried out on the basis of 18 months, which involves disassembling large bolts and nuts bound up with the casing to check rotor, blade and bearing. For such disassembly and assembly of large bolts and nuts, bolts should be heated for a long time using conventional heating system. This can generate heat deformation of casing when the heat is transferred to casing from heated bolt. Induction heating technology is intended to apply to heating bolts in order to resolve the problems of conventional heating. Induction heating expands bolts over four times more quickly than conventional heating, with external diameter temperature of bolts distributed at 1.6 times lower temperatures, deriving that induction heating is an effective work method. Moreover, the effect of induction heating lowers thermal casing deformation over 60% against the existing method increasing longevity of heating bolts and casing, preventing large-scale accidents including steam leakage.
